Continuous Assessment

There will be continuous assessment and review based on the following:

1. Attendance

Minimum of 70% attendance. Failing which, the Coach has the discretion to recommend the removal of the athlete from the scheme, irrespective of his/her other attributes. Athletes are expected to seek formal excuse for absence from the coaches.

2. Discipline

If one breach the disciplinary code such as insubordination, disrespect to coaches and trainers or failing to adhere to instructions and regulations, etc, the Coach can recommend to the JTS Disciplinary committee (Advisor - Dr Stephen Lee, Members - Wei Dong, Pamela Kong) for reprimand, fine, suspension or removal from the squad. We do not wait for an assessment to check this delinquency. Athletes who receive three formal warnings of indiscipline (including reprimand, fine and suspension) from the JTS Disciplinary committee will automatically be removed from the squad.
3. Performance

Performance is a very important benchmark in the assessment of an athlete continuity. If the athlete consistently could not make any progress (with respect to Official Results from Time Trial/s and/or Competition/s) after coming to the team, even with full attendance and good discipline, the JTS Training committee should after a reasonable time remove him/her from the squad. The Coach should be the assessor and the JTS Training committee should only deliberate his findings in relation to his/her age, growth potential, attendance, attitude and discipline. However, the overriding factor should be growth potential and his/her current performance in relation to local, regional and international peers.
