- Pre-expo: Assist in packing of goodie-bags and race kits
- ChampionChip Crew: scanning of race kits (For ChampionChip Team only)

Expo Staff (pre-race) |
- Registration of participants for expo
- Directing the participants to the various booths for collection of kits
- Handing out of goodie-bags and race kits
- Ensure participants’ entry are in order
- Answer queries of participants

| Volunteer Tent Staff |
- Assist in monitoring volunteers’ signing in and out
- Issuing of volunteer T-shirt, accreditation pass, rain coat, equipments (e.g. red flags, vests, and whistle), packed meals & drinks to fellow volunteers/officials
- Assist in the smooth, orderly deposit and return of all officials and volunteers' personal belongings before and after the race.
- Ensure that all personal belongings are correctly tagged and kept safe and secured during the entire period of deposit.

Admin Tent Staff |
- Provide manpower support to ensure the smooth operations of the on-site race registration,
- Possible duties include manning the helpdesk/reception, distribution of entry packs,
- Mend the enquiry & lost & found counter.
- As a frontline staff, Race Expo Staff are also expected to provide friendly customer service to all participants, project a professional image and render assistance whenever possible
- Hand out entry packs to those participants who did not attend the Race Expo, etc.

Body Markers |
- All participants so that they can be easily identified as they enter any portion of the race. This is done primarily for the benefit of our timing crew but it is also a safety precaution in the event we need to identify a participant who may require medical assistance.
- Mark participants with black markers. Volunteers must indicate the participant's number CLEARLY and LEGIBLY on both the right & left upper arms and thighs.
- Please take note that only elite participants competing do not require body marking. They will be using number stickers instead that are to be pasted on their upper arms and thighs.
- Be prepared to be redeployed to other areas of work where manpower is lacking after the completion of your duties.

| Manual Timing Staff |
- Record the time clocked by runner/cyclist at the Run Leg/ Bike Leg respectively (Start and End time for each individual participant). The team is made up of Time Machine Recorders, Number Callers, and Recorders & Data Entry Staff.
- Time Machine Recorders: To input participants' numbers into the digital timer.
- Number Callers: To call out each participant’s number as they pass through the timing chute. This is primarily for the benefit of the time machine operators so that they do not have to look out for the numbers. Participants will have their race number written in black marker on both their right & left upper arms and thighs (front)
- Recorders: To write the number down in sequence on a numbered form that is provided. Listen to the number caller. This is part of a very important back-up system that we use.
- Data Entry Staff: To assist in the collation & entry of race results into the computer system for tabulation purposes in a fast and efficient manner. You must be able to type accurately & fast, IT savvy and must be able to work under extreme stress.

Lap Recorders |
- Record the number of laps completed by each individual runner/ cyclist for the Run and Bike Leg. Recorder and Number Caller pair together for the task.
- Recorder: Manually record the numbers on paper
- Number Caller: Report the number of the returning runner/cyclist to the Recorder.

| Swim Marshals |
- Ensure that participants report at the swim start and they are in the right wave.
- Take note of their bib nos.
- Ensure that participants start the race only after the horn has sounded
- Direct the participants to the Transition Area after their swim
- Take down their bib nos.
|
Experienced Canoeists (Certificate are required) |
- Canoeists must be of at least level 2 proficiency in canoeing
- Ensure the swimmers’ safety. Should any swimmer be struggling, act immediately to offer assistance
- Alert the first-aiders or officials should the need arise
|
Lifeguards (Certificate are required) |
- Ensure the swimmers’ safety.
- Rescue any swimmers in trouble, together with the canoeists
- Alert the medical officers should the need arises
|
Bike Marshals |
- Direct cyclists to turn the appropriate way at certain intersections.
- Advise cyclists to stay within traffic cones at corners.
- Advise and keep any wandering spectators/ pedestrians out of the bike course.
- Assist and also work with uniformed officers who will be directing traffic out of the course. Volunteers will be equipped with red flags. Where there are no uniformed officers, volunteers are required to direct the traffic flow.
- Control pedestrians crossing at designated points.

IMPORTANT: Volunteers are not to wave the red flags provided but rather to just hold the red flags and point in the direction where the participants will be turning. Volunteers will also be stationed at any intersection that requires vehicular traffic to stop and yield to bikers. |
- Assist and manage bike course marshals under their care and also to ensure cyclists’ safety and smooth flow of traffic in his/her respective sectors.

| Run Marshals |
- Direct runners on the correct run routes
- Keep pedestrians off the routes
- Alert medical officers should any runners need medical attention
- Control pedestrians at designated points
- Advise runners to stay within the cones along the routes
- Report any participant who did not follow the course

IMPORTANT: Volunteers will also be stationed at any intersection that requires vehicular traffic to stop and yield (give way) to competitors. |
Transition Area Marshals |
- During the Race: Transition Area Marshals will become traffic cops - Direct participants out the appropriate exits at the transition area. They are also to keep any wandering spectators out of the transition area. *Note: Only participants & media are allowed to enter the Transition Area.
- After the Race: Continue to keep any non-participants out of the transition area - the most important task at this point is to check participants who are leaving to make sure that they are leaving with the correct bike. The bikes will have numbers on them and the participants will still be numbered (black magic marker on their arms and legs). Simply match up the numbers. Make sure everybody leaves with his or her own bike. Any problems or questions should be reported to the Transition Area Security OIC.

Drinks Station Staff |
- Ensure there are adequate drinks at the allocated drink stations and continuously refill drinks, whenever necessary·
- Hand out drinks to the participants in a safe and professional manner as to minimize disruption to their race·
- Ensure area around the drink station is free of used cups & bottles and undertake to clear as much used cups & bottles away from the race course as possible·
- Pack unused drinks back into the cartons and place them at the side of your drink station

IMPORTANT: Certain drinks stations will have 'ice station' where drinks need to be chilled and ice will be made available. |
- Both water & energy drinks will be served
- Bottled water: Caps to be removed
- Energy drink: Seal & caps to be removed

| The drinks stations along the race course route are only to be made available to triathletes competing in the race. Only the drinks station near the finish line is available to both participants and non participants. However, the fruits are only made available to triathletes competing in the race. |
| *Please ensure no one consumes the drinks except for the triathletes themselves. |
Finishing Chute Staff |
- Help to put on the award medals to all participants who finish the race
- Cheer & support all participants as they approach the finishing line.
- Championchip Collector: Assist in removing the champion chip velcro straps from every participant at the finishing line. Arrange and bundle the championchip velcro straps in groups of 10 and pack them in the allocated boxes.
- Spotters: Identify the top 5 winners of each category.

Important: Ensure no participant is allowed to leave finishing chute with the Championchip, and no public is allowed to entry the finishing chute area. |
Crossing Point Marshals |
- Keep pedestrians off the routes
- Alert medical officers should any runners need medical attention
- Control pedestrians at designated points

Transport Marshals |
- Guide volunteers onto shuttle buses
- Issue volunteer passes to fellow volunteers

VIP Tent Staff |
- Attend to the needs of the VIPs

Prize Presentation Staff |
- Arrange winner trophies & prizes accordingly
- Assist prize presentation manager to pass out the trophies & prizes to Presenter (Guest of Honor)

- Loading and unloading of the timing equipments and championchip mats at the race site & store before and after the event.

At the finish point
|
- To ensure participants do not cross the championchip mats before the race commence or when they return from the first lap of the run leg.

At the bike start
|
- To guard and ensure participants do not cross the mats before they commence the race. It is especially important as participants will enter the transition area to park their bikes and lay out their gears.

At the bike end
|
- To guard and ensure participants do not cross the mats before they commence the race.

Swim End/Run start/Bike Check Point/Run Check Point

- To guard and ensure participants do not cross the mats before they commence the race.

Sweeper |
- To trace the last runner and report to organizer & every checking station (championchip station and drink station) when the last runner passed the station.
- The sweeper will wear the safety vest and ride a bike. Basic cycling skill is required.

First Aid (Certificate are required) |
- Relevant certification and experience are required.
- To work with safety officer on the race day.
